About

I hope you will take a few minutes to check out some of my posts — all in some way related to permaculture and sustainable life in general. If you like what you see, please click the RSS button. Without any further effort you will be alerted each time I add a post and can then decide if you want to read it. I generally post once a week.

Some of my passions (besides permaculture) are music (I play the sax), reading, especially mysteries, especially British mysteries, and kayaking (I built my first one in 1974). Basically I’m a bookish person — research is my idea of adventure.

  1. Hey!
Thanks so much for taking the time to read my blog, and leaving me my very first comment. It really makes it seem real. I love your elderberry header photo by the way. I’m also a fan of David Holmgren – we’re in the middle of relocating to Ireland, and I’m hoping to immerse myself in the world of permaculture once we get settled there. I’ll be reading through your posts properly when I get a moment to breathe!

  2. Thank you for your comment on my blog, Becoming A Sensible Vermonter. I hope you liked what you saw, and hopefully you will continue to visit. I really like your posts about permaculture. I’m a firm believer that things happen in life for a reason, and there are no such things as coincidences, so I wanted to point out that only a week after you mentioned permacuture, something I had never heard of before, a good friend of mine who is very much into agriculture left for Italy to do an internship over there. And do you know what one of the main practices that the place she is staying at uses? That’s right, permaculture. Interesting to say the least. If you are interested in a picture filled simple blog following her month long experience over there, you can find it here: http://www.proposintea.blogspot.com/

Best wishes, and I will continue to watch your blog.
